Staging Our Histories explores the convergence of history, memory and performance. Bringing together performing artists of diverse traditions with members of academia and the general public, Staging Our Histories offers a space for engagement and dialogue regarding the ways we express our histories beyond the page.
The theme of our 2016 event is Unharvested Histories. Workshops, film screenings and live performances will happen October 13th-16th in Goderich, Ontario.
The inaugural Staging Our Histories took place on Sunday May 31st, 2015 at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. The event featured live performances and screenings from filmmakers, poets, storytellers, and other artists dedicated to performing history.
